YinYang Coffee Table

This YinYang coffee table was inspired by Chinese tea and symbolized Chinese Taiji culture based on researches. The designer wants to create a culture-influenced table that people can enjoy chatting and drinking tea. It was made of three different wood species with a matte finish: walnut, oak and cherry. These two-Bean shapes created an ellipse shape from the top view that came from the Chinese TaiJi pattern. This work represents the Asian cultured influenced design through exploring organic shapes and experimenting with different wood species and finishes.
